The Lower Cape Fear Historical Society is proud to offer our newest tour program, highlighting the impact of gas technology on the nightlife of people who lived and worked in the home until 1886 when the house was first electrified.
The tours currently start at 8:30pm, after sundown, on the first and third Saturday of the month. Tickets are $20 apiece and can be purchased online or by contacting us directly by phone or email. The tour is limited to 10 guests so it is advised to book well in advance. Spots fill up quickly the week of the tour.
Call 910-762-0492, feel free to leave a voicemail with your name, the number of people in your party, and your preferred contact information; or email manager@latimerhouse.org to reserve your spot.
This tour would not be possible without the help of Gary Quilliam,
co-founder of the Freeport Old House Society
appointed member of the Freeport Landmarks Preservation Commission
Expert in gas lighting to include Sagamore Hill NHS and the Brooklyn Historical Society.
