The Lower Cape Fear Historical Society regrets to announce the new, socially distant Old Wilmington by Candlelight Tour,
slated for the weekend of December 5 – 6, 2020,
has been postponed.
While no date has been identified for rescheduling the event, the forthcoming event will likely include further refinement and a continued focus on the health and safety of our community members and visitors.
Although a difficult decision, your safety is our top priority.
Since we do plan to host this event in the future, we are allowing all those who have purchased tickets to hold their places.
Once we have rescheduled the event, you will be notified of the new dates and times.
However, we will also issue full refunds for those who are interested.

- If I want a refund for my ticket(s), what do I need to do?
For refunds, please contact Jessie Labell (see information above).
- Will I be refunded the total purchase amount?
Yes.
- How long will the refund take?
The refund will take 5-10 business days to process.
- Can I donate the money instead?
If you’d like, you can donate your purchase total, which will allow us to continue to provide educational and research programs to the Lower Cape Fear community. If not, we understand.
- Can I keep my ticket for when the LCFHS reschedules the event?
Absolutely! As soon as we know when the event will be held, we will send you an email with all the new information, and you will remain a registered ticketholder.
- When will the event be rescheduled?
The LCFHS will continue to assess when it is safe to hold this event. As soon as we have determined the new dates and time, we will make an announcement.
- Will the event be the same?
We hope so! However, we will be closely following any and all health and safety guidelines and mandates, which may mean we have to further adapt this event for your protection.
- Will you still be holding the Old Wilmington by Candlelight Tour in December 2021?
That's what we're planning! As of this moment, we are hoping that we will be able to resume our annual Old Wilmington by Candlelight Tour in all its glory. However, we will continue to monitor the pandemic and make a decision about next year's event in accordance with suggested health and safety guidelines.
